Currumbin Beach, on the southern section of the Gold Coast, is paradise rediscovered. Pristine beaches, friendly locals, iconic Elephant Rock Lookout and, best of all, once a year it showcases world-class sculpture in abundance.

SWELL Sculpture Festival is Queensland's largest annual outdoor sculpture festival, celebrating 21 years of connecting people, art and place in September 2023. SWELL is a festival of experiences, a sensory symphony where the natural landscape of Currumbin Beach is transformed into a stunning sculpture gallery for all to enjoy.

Inviting engagement with public street art through sculpture, performance and conversations. SWELL is for everyone!

SWELL Sculpture Festival showcases 70+ large-scale sculptures along Currumbin Beach alongside a vibrant performing arts program created by nationally and internationally renowned artists.

Artists work in images: Christopher Trotter, Amigo & Amigo, Andrew Cullen

What? An annual sculpture festival on the Gold Coast offering far more than sculptures alone thanks to the participation of artists in various activities.

Best viewing times: Only during the September festival. Sunrise on Currumbin Beach is beautiful at any time, and made even more spectacular by these artworks.

Next Festival: 6 - 15 September 2024
